Job Description
The Director, Fleet Center is responsible for the full operational and financial performance of the Fleet Center, including fleet maintenance, asset reliability, facility management, team leadership, customer support, and business operations.
This role drives operational excellence, maximizes asset utilization, controls cost, ensures compliance, and builds scalable systems that support enterprise growth. The Director leads continuous improvement initiatives, strengthens Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) capabilities, and ensures the Fleet Center operates as a high‑performing business unit with clear accountability for safety, service, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities Fleet Center Leadership & Business Operations- Own full P&L responsibility for Fleet Center operations, including maintenance, parts, labor, capital planning, and overhead.
- Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Establish performance metrics (KPIs) for safety, uptime, cost per asset, turnaround time, inventory turns, and labor efficiency.
- Drive operational scalability to support growth in fleet size and geographic coverage.
- Implement structured management routines, reporting cadences, and performance reviews.
- Ensure optimal facility layout, workflow efficiency, and capacity planning.
- Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, and procurement strategy.
- Lead cross‑functional coordination with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and Field Teams.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job‑related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000.
Fleet Maintenance & Asset Performance- Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
- Optimize equipment uptime and lifecycle cost through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Develop asset replacement and capital planning models.
- Standardize maintenance processes and documentation across the Fleet Center.
- Develop and oversee parts inventory strategy to ensure availability while minimizing carrying costs.
- Lead root cause analysis for recurring failures and drive corrective action.
- Provides cost basis for quoting repairs and maintenance.
- Lead development, optimization, and adoption of the EAM system.
- Ensure accurate asset tracking, maintenance records, and compliance documentation.
- Use data analytics to drive reliability improvements and cost reduction.
- Establish data governance standards for fleet reporting and audit readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and company safety regulations.
- Maintain OSHA and DOT compliance where applicable.
- Lead safety programs, audits, and corrective action plans.
- Establish risk mitigation strategies to reduce operational and financial exposure.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing fleet operations team.
- Develop technical capability across powertrain, hydraulic, electrical, and chassis systems.
- Establish workforce planning strategies to support growth and workload demands.
- Deliver structured training programs for internal teams and customers on maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety.
- Implement Standard Work Instruction program which incorporates safety, quality and productivity requirements for work activities to drive process improvement and KPI metrics.
