Location: 1849 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas, NV 89030
Primary Function: The Grant Coordinator will be a dynamic, passionate, action-oriented individual who will utilize traditional and innovative methodologies to engage the community. The candidate will be solely responsible for organizing and supporting all aspects of the grant lifecycle–from prospect research and proposal writing to post-award reporting. This position will be the heart of our grant-seeking efforts, dedicated to cultivating and securing grant funds from Private and Public Partners.
SpecificResponsibilities
- Monitors and maintains an internal database of existing funders, including, but not limited to, organizations, foundations, businesses, government entities, affiliates, e.g., Neighbor Works America, and other funding opportunities.
- Responsible for staying current on changing grant standards and proposal guidelines to review and discuss with the C-suite and/or leaders at NHSSN.
- Be a coordinator to the NHSSN Leadership staff on available grants. This includes, but is not limited to, any negotiations regarding new awards, effective program startup, and grant management issues.
- Responsible for keeping the Marketing, Events, and Policy Manager up to date with any new awards and marketing needed to support grant awards.
- Monitor and report the monthly grant report to the President/CEO and leaders of the agency, and work closely with the CFO and the accounting team.
- Responsible for attending business, city, and community meetings as requested and/or needed.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of foundation and corporate giving interests, staff, and trends.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of all NHSSN programs and services and can convey this information to the public.
- Maintains strict confidentiality regarding agency information and work product.
- Assists in the development of goals and strategies for all fundraising campaigns and will be responsible for helping with marketing efforts for programs and special events to maximize prospect/donor engagement.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or three (3-5) years of experience in nonprofit or business administration, technical writing, or public administration.
- Three (3) years of successful experience in researching and submitting winning grant proposals to public and/or private resources, business development, or a preferred combination.
- Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with demonstrated work experience in projects with time-sensitive deadlines.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) databases, and Instrumentl, a software platform to discover, track, and manage grants throughout the funding lifecycle.
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel out of town and out of state for training opportunities, as needed.
- Commitment to the mission and goals of NHSSN.
Reports directly to the President/CEO. Works closely with the management team and staff.
Physical EffortRequires the ability to exert some physical effort, such as walking, standing, and light lifting; minimal skill in the use of fingers, limbs, and body in the operation of office equipment. Requires extended periods of time at a computer terminal.
Office HoursThis is a full-time position; however, it may require fieldwork. Hours of 7:00 am – 5:30 pm—one-half hour for a lunch break, Monday – Thursday. Full-time. 40 hours per week. May require evening and/or weekend work to complete specific projects or reporting requirements.
Salary Range$46,000-$66k
Medical coverage is paid for the employee. Family coverage available – paid by the employee.
$25,000 Term Life Insurance Policy paid for the employee.
Upon completion of 90 days of probation, the employee receives the following:
- Less than 1 Year - 100 hours PTO (40 hours Vacation, 40 hours Sick, and 2 Float Days). Vacation leave is accessible only after completing the probationary period.
- 1 to 5 Years - 140 hours PTO (80 hours Vacation, 40 hours Sick, and 2 Float Days)
- More than 5 Years - 200 hours PTO (140 hours Vacation, 40 hours Sick, and 2 Float Days)
- Eight paid holidays per year
Paid training for Neighbor Works Training Institute, as required or assigned.
