Overview
JOB SUMMARY:
The Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) provides high-quality, patient-centered mental health care, focusing on prevention and treatment of mental health disorders. The PMHNP diagnoses, treats, and manages patients' psychiatric needs; prescribes medications; refers patients to additional services as needed; and participates in Peer Review and Quality Improvement meetings to enhance clinic services and ensure patient needs are prioritized.
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental health assessments, diagnostic interviews, and physical exams.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the patient’s mental health needs.
- Prescribe medications and manage psychiatric treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Educate patients and families about mental health disorders, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality requirements.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Refer patients to community resources or specialists when appropriate.
- Adhere to company policies and CDC guidelines related to infection control.
- Uphold strict HIPAA compliance protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Uphold compliance with HIPAA and protect patient information.
- Ensure compliance with all 19 Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Program Requirements.
- Actively participate in and support quality improvement activities and the clinical practice team efforts, emphasizing the importance of the individual patient and putting the patient’s needs first.
Qualifications:
- Active Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in Nevada.
- National certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Active BLS certification – required.
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited program or school – required.
- Faith to believe that Hope is a ministry of God, exemplifying the love of Christ, and held and directed by the Holy Spirit.
- Ability to operate general office machinery (computers, calculators, copy/fax machine, telephones, etc.).
- Outstanding ability to build interpersonal relationships at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated passion for community health care.
- Proven leadership, team-building, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to maintain integrity in a fast‑paced and high‑demand environment.
- Proven ability to manage performance goals.
- Ability to interact with people from all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles; ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively, and sensitively to special populations.
Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Frequent sitting. Manual dexterity. Good reading eyesight and vision for close work. Ability to communicate by speaking and hearing in person or on the phone. Ability to travel to various locations.
