We have a new opening for a Registered Nurse
- Hematology/Oncology at Nellis AFB in North Las Vegas, NV.

General Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
  • Utilize the nursing process as a basis for professional
  • Knowledge of a wide range of medical disorders/conditions, diagnostic studies and treatments, as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of disease management and education
  • Working knowledge of military health care system including TRICARE health benefits or a working knowledge of the principles of fee-for-services, preferred provider network and managed care/HMO organizations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of a variety of pharmacological agents, to specifically include chemotherapeutic, immunotherapy agents, and disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDS), including the desired effects, side effects, and
  • Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patients’ conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
Job Specific Details and Tasks:
  • Manages patient care requirements within the unit as well as coordinates with ancillary departments and outside organizations to ensure the continuum of care.
  • Is accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Performs a full range of nursing procedures to include, but not limited to: patient counseling and education, telephone consultations with patients, reviewing charts, intravenous fluid administration, oxygen administration, vital signs monitoring and recording, specimen collection, and other unit-specific procedures as prescribed by the
  • Participates in the orientation and training of newly assigned personnel, as
  • Participates in peer
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for adult and geriatric
  • Synthesize data from a variety of sources and make appropriate clinical
  • Coordinates patient care through a continuum and facilitates the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with standards of care, practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for Assessment includes but is not limited to: physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, language barriers, age specific, and discharge planning needs.
