Job DescriptionMission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The Classified Matter, Protection, and Control (CMPC) Program is part of the Information Security Program. In this Principal Safeguards & Security Specialist role, you will have a thorough knowledge of CMPC and related basic security principles, concepts, policies, and procedures. The CMPC Program provides support to the Nevada Field Office, the MSTS complex, including the satellite locations at Livermore Operations, Special Technology Laboratory, Los Alamos Operations, and the Remote Sensing Laboratories, and other subcontractors and tenants.
The program also conducts CMPC reviews and assessments, develops metrics and action items resulting from the reviews and assessments.
- Provide technical support and expertise to MSTS and Nevada Field Office custodians with the following:
- Handling accountable matter, to include foreign national and Sigma information.
- Performing the annual accountable classified matter inventory and completing the reports required.
- Ensure classified matter is properly protected, stored, marked, and destroyed.
- Assist with maintaining the Classified Matter Control Center (CMCC) which includes processing of incoming and outgoing classified mail.
- Provide support as needed with receiving and transmitting classified matter via US Postal Service, express services, and hand-carry.
- Inspect and validate equipment approved for the reproduction and destruction of classified matter.
- Assist with disseminating CMPC announcements and information to custodians.
- Ensure the information on the CMPC SharePoint remains updated.
- Collaborate with the Information Security Supervisor on the maintenance of the CMPC program in accordance with federal law, customer requirements, certification and accreditation requirements, and industry best practices.
- Attend project meetings as needed and provide CMPC awareness information.
- Review, update, and maintain the CMPC program.
- Maintain the CMPC Self-Assessment program to include entering, tracking, and closing Findings and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI).
- Develop and maintain the CMPC review and assessment schedule to be entered into the NvE Joint Assessment Schedule (JAS).
- Conduct CMPC reviews and assessments of site projects and programs to include writing reports and capturing Findings and OFIs.
- Participate in the development, review, and updates of all Security and CMPC related briefings and training courses.
- Present the Initial New Hire briefing as needed.
- Assist with preparing CMPC articles, website content, and other materials for publication.
