Supports ballot duplication and ballot-processing operations by accurately recreating eligible damaged, unreadable, or otherwise process-exception ballots according to County procedures so that tabulation can proceed while preserving voter intent and auditability.
Key Responsibilities
- Duplicate ballots only as instructed and only within approved County workflows, maintaining strict adherence to training and chain-of-custody requirements.
- Review source ballots carefully and transfer voter selections to the designated replacement ballot or system in accordance with established procedures.
- Verify duplicated ballots against source ballots through required quality-control checks before release to the next processing step.
- Label, batch, log, and route original and duplicated ballots as directed to preserve audit trails and ballot accountability.
- Identify and escalate ambiguous marks, damaged ballot issues, mismatches, or process exceptions immediately.
- Handle ballot materials securely and maintain voter secrecy, confidentiality, and nonpartisan conduct.
- Assist with related election logistics duties such as transporting materials within the facility, organizing batches, and preparing ballots for additional processing.
- High attention to detail and ability to compare records accurately for extended periods.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs when assisting with ballot crates or supplies.
- Team-oriented work style, accountability, and comfort in a secure, process-controlled environment.
- Nonpartisan conduct and respect for voter privacy and ballot confidentiality.
- Valid Nevada Driver's License.
Registered Clark County voter; prior election logistics or ballot-processing experience.
- Must complete County training before handling duplication assignments independently.
- Work may involve standing, sitting, repetitive review, moving ballot materials, and operating under tight deadlines.
- May be assigned to secure ballot-processing areas with restricted access and detailed documentation requirements.
- Must be available for schedule needs that may include 8-10 hour shifts, weekends, flexible start and end times, overtime, and extended hours on specific event days, especially Election Day.
- Must remain reliable, punctual, and responsive to assignment changes during a fast-paced, deadline-driven election environment.
- Must follow County security rules, workplace policies, chain-of-custody expectations, confidentiality requirements, dress code, and professional conduct standards.
- Completes assigned work accurately, on time, and in accordance with training and County procedures.
- Maintains nonpartisan conduct, voter confidentiality, ballot security, and respectful service at all times.
- Accurately documents work performed, materials handled, calls received, records updated, and/or batch activity as applicable to the assignment.
