Operates or supports designated ballot-imprinting and ballot-preparation workflows to ensure ballots are properly prepared, labeled, logged, and routed for downstream processing or tabulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ballots and ballot batches for imprinting or related processing according to County procedures and equipment instructions.
- Operate assigned imprinting or ballot-processing equipment only after receiving required training and authorization.
- Log batch activity, counts, exceptions, and completed work accurately to support reconciliation and audit trails.
- Transport ballot materials between workstations within secure areas and maintain chain-of-custody controls.
- Assist with equipment setup, basic cleaning, staging of supplies, and end-of-shift accountability procedures as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality, voter privacy, ballot security, and nonpartisan conduct at all times.
Attention to detail when handling ballots, reading instructions, reviewing output, and recording counts.
- Ability to learn designated equipment workflows and follow step-by-step procedures.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs when moving ballot crates or supplies.
- Nonpartisan conduct and a strong commitment to accuracy and security.
- Valid Nevada Driver's License.
- Registered Clark County voter; prior election logistics or equipment experience.
- Must complete all County equipment, safety, and ballot-handling training before assignment.
- May require standing, lifting, repetitive handling, and working around ballot-processing equipment.
- Must work carefully in a secure environment where counts, labels, logs, and batch controls must match exactly.
- Must be available to work through the election cycle with limited requested days off.
- Must remain reliable, punctual, and responsive to assignment changes during a fast-paced, deadline-driven election environment.
- Must follow County security rules, workplace policies, chain-of-custody expectations, confidentiality requirements, dress code, and professional conduct standards.
- Completes assigned work accurately, on time, and in accordance with training and County procedures.
- Maintains nonpartisan conduct, voter confidentiality, ballot security, and respectful service at all times.
- Escalates exceptions, voter issues, equipment concerns, safety concerns, and unclear instructions promptly to the designated supervisor or lead.
- Accurately documents work performed, materials handled, calls received, records updated, and/or batch activity as applicable to the assignment.
