Diesel Mechanic

Sierra Ready Mix is hiring a Diesel Mechanic at our plant in Las Vegas, NV. Mechanics are responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engines on heavy trucks according to industry standards and factory specifications, as well as assisting with concrete plant repairs. Essential Functions Inspect equipment for mechanical defects and safety issues and participate in the approval of those projects

Perform repairs using proper tools and techniques

Troubleshoot issues further if necessary

Document work performed onsite and submit progress reports

Ensure on-time deliveries of work completed

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations at all times

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment

Work overtime when required, ensuring work is completed on time Comply with all company policies and procedures

Position Requirements 2+ years’ experience as heavy/medium diesel truck technician

Certifications:

MX, Cummins, CAT, Kenworth, PACCARAble to work a Monday
- Friday or Tuesday
- Saturday shift, weekly

Ability to travel to other locations to assist with truck/plant repair

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information

Manual dexterity and good judgement

Ability to operate power and hand tools and other equipment safely

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; maneuver in/out and around/under trucks
