Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Clean Harbors North Las Vegas is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations, supervise maintenance work, and ensure DOT compliance for our fleet.

- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Perform preventative maintenance, conduct inspections, troubleshoot, diagnose failures, and carry out necessary corrections, including off‑site road repairs/service calls.
- Complete daily checklist for proper operation of the unit being operated.
- Ensure daily maintenance duties are performed and communicate any issues immediately.
- Submit all associated paperwork required for tracking PM schedules.
- Conduct safety checks and annual vehicle inspections in accordance with provincial and federal laws.
- Ensure equipment is properly parked in compliance with facility permits and DOT requirements.
- Adhere to applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Perform other assignments as directed by management.
- Understand Clean Compliance Standard.
- 5–7 years of diesel engine experience.
- 1+ years DOT inspection experience.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Versed in electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines, etc.
- Proficiency in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy‑duty forklifts, roll‑off trucks, forklifts, pickup trucks, box trucks, tractors, and tankers.
- Proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostic, repair, and maintenance.
- Ability to pass a background, drug, and physical test upon hire.
