Job InformationThe Warehouse Lead is responsible for guiding and supporting a team of Warehouse Associates, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position oversees task execution, provides on-the-job training, and serves as a key communication link between the team and warehouse management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assign and delegate daily tasks to warehouse staff, monitoring progress to ensure all receiving, picking, and shipping goals are met.
- Provide direct, hands-on training and mentorship to new and existing team members on proper procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the team, addressing questions, resolving immediate issues, and escalating complex problems to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Operate a variety of material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to assist with a wide range of warehouse tasks.
- Conduct regular quality checks on packed orders and inventory to maintain accuracy and prevent shipping errors.
- Promote and enforce all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure and productive work environment.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment; a current forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to guide and motivate a team.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory scanning technology.
- Manual Dexterity:
Typing or otherwise working primarily with hands or fingers in an office environment. - Sedentary work:
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, including computers, papers, and other general office equipment. - Seeing:
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. - Talking:
Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word in activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately. - Hearing:
Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, by phone or in person.
