About the Role:

The Foreman plays a critical leadership role in overseeing and coordinating construction activities on commercial building projects, ensuring that all tasks are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position is responsible for managing excavation, demolition, and heavy machinery operations while maintaining strict adherence to construction safety protocols. The Foreman acts as the primary point of contact between project management and on-site workers, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of issues.

By effectively scheduling processes and managing resources, the Foreman ensures that project milestones and deadlines are consistently met. Ultimately, this role drives the successful completion of commercial construction projects by combining technical expertise with strong team leadership and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Proven experience in excavation, commercial building, and demolition projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to operate and oversee heavy machinery and equipment safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or certification in construction management or related field.
  • Experience with project estimation and process scheduling software.
  • Certification in construction safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour).
  • Strong leadership and team management training or credentials.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily on-site construction activities including excavation, demolition, and commercial building tasks.
  • Manage and schedule the use of heavy machinery and equipment to optimize productivity and maintain safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all construction safety regulations and company policies to create a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with project managers to estimate project timelines, resource needs, and budget considerations.
  • Monitor work progress and quality, providing guidance and training to crew members as needed to meet project specifications.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders including subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or delays promptly to keep the project on schedule.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and progress reports to support project tracking and accountability.
