Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Automation Robotics Specialist to join our Maintenance and Engineering team! This is a hands-on technical position for someone who enjoys solving complex automation challenges and keeping highly automated production equipment operating at peak performance.

Position Summary

The Automation Robotics Specialist will be responsible for the complete setup, programming, troubleshooting, optimization, and maintenance of robotic automation systems supporting our plastic injection molding operations. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring maximum machine uptime, efficient production changeovers, and reliable robotic performance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems.
  • Complete robot setup for production runs on plastic injection molding machines.
  • Design, install, and optimize end-of-arm tooling (EOAT).
  • Configure and adjust robotic systems and part handling equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and servo-related automation issues.
  • Optimize robot cycle times while maintaining part quality.
  • Support mold changeovers and production startups.
  • Troubleshoot sensors, vacuum systems, static elimination equipment, and automation peripherals.
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Work closely with Process Technicians, Mold Setters, Engineering, and Maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programming changes, repairs, and process improvements.
  • Train maintenance personnel and operators on proper robotic operation when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Verifiable experience programming and troubleshooting industrial robotic automation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical controls and automation.
  • Experience with pneumatic and servo motion systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience with industrial sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, and automation troubleshooting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented maintenance environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of In-Mold Labeling (IML) systems is a significant plus. Candidates with hands‑on IML setup, troubleshooting, or process optimization experience will be strongly considered.
