INTAKE RN

Overview

The Bridge Way, a provider of behavioral health services in Arkansas, is seeking an Intake RN to manage admissions and ensure smooth patient flow into the hospital. The role is full‑time, Monday–Friday, and reports to the Director of Assessment and Referral.

• Receive incoming admission inquiry calls and assess patients for admission.
• Make appropriate referrals and streamline patient experience by completing necessary assessments and medical documentation.
• Assist with the achievement of patient outcomes in accordance with the mission of the hospital.
• Work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions while maintaining professional communication with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff.
• Use knowledge of admitting and insurance verification and telephone etiquette to manage processes efficiently.

• Current RN nursing license.
• Two years clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
• Handle with Care and CPR required (offered onsite).

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.

• Ability to assess the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients.
• Ability to determine suitability of admission to the hospital based on clinical and financial criteria.
• Ability to make independent and responsible decisions.
• Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
• Ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of telephone etiquette.
• Professional interaction with patients, physicians, families, and hospital personnel.
• Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies, and insurance companies.
