A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes, in conjunction with hospital policies and the Nurse Practice Act of Arkansas.
A Cath Lab/IVR Pre/Post Op Nurse provides nursing care to patients admitted for surgery and caring for them following surgery. Responsibilities include admission and preoperative care of surgical patients, assessing patients, developing a plan of care to address physical, psychological, educational/health literacy, sociocultural, and spiritual needs of the patient and family, validating existing information, preparing the patient, providing post‑anesthesia nursing care in the immediate post‑anesthesia period, and transitioning patients to Phase II care, inpatient settings, or critical care settings for continued care or release to home.
The nurse monitors post‑operative vital signs, levels of consciousness, and potential side effects from anesthesia as patients wake from postoperative anesthesia.
- Must have the required education to be a licensed Registered Nurse by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
- Current CPR and ACLS certification.
This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi‑weekly.
