Position Description

Summary:

The District Manager is responsible for the overall management of multiple Road Runner stores. Managerial responsibilities of the District Manager shall consist of, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: supervising, coaching and developing a successful team of Road Runner Store Managers, Assistant Store Managers and Store employees that consistently surpass our customer needs with excellent customer service; hiring, training and development of Store Managers;

monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures, maximizing sales and profitability; controlling expenses; ensuring that stores maintain adequate inventory and guaranteeing the flawless execution of programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises and directs the activities of Store Managers.
• Responsible for hiring, training and development of Store Managers to build strong sales focused teams.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Maximizes sales and profitability.
• Ensures that stores maintain inventory and ensures the flawless execution of programs.
• Responsible for accomplishing all store goals/objectives within the area of responsibility.
• Creates a positive store culture by treating employees fair and with respect.
• Maintains familiarity with all duties and responsibilities required of staff and performs those duties as required.
• Regularly communicates with Director of Retail Operations regarding store operations, staff performance, staff scheduling and any issues that may arise.
• Analyzes financial data including, margins, sales, shortages and cashier analysis to identify business opportunities and increase sales and profitability
• Responsible for in-depth analysis of profit and loss statements in a given district with suggestions to increase profitability
• Oversees and ensures that the overall store conditions comply with company values and standards including: (1) cleanliness, (2) store and food service, (3) sanitation, (4) customer service and (5) merchandising.
• Manages quality and consistent marketing and merchandising of store and food service programs.
• Engages with merchandising team to suggest ways to increase sales, expand markets and promote our business
• Ensures quality and consistent implementation of all marketing, merchandising, food service and gasoline programs to maintain an awareness of safety and security and high level of store appearance.
• Ensures that work schedules provide the best possible level of customer service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Leads efforts to improve team usage of technology and learning the Road Runner business.
• Must be flexible to work Monday through Sunday, and on-call duty.
• Expect to work at least 55 hours per week.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated leadership skills and competencies
• Ability to manage inventory
• Ability to work at least 55 hours per week.
• Proficient in Microsoft products suite
• Proven leadership skills in a retail environment
• Knowledge of P&L and ability to use reports to affect change
• Ability to travel
• Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma (or equivalent) is required.

College degree is strongly preferred.

A minimum of five (5) years of convenience store or retail experience is required

A minimum of 3 years as a top performing Store Manager, or equivalent supervisory experience is required

Managing multiple stores or locations is preferred

Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass MVR standards.

Must be 21 years of age

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
