Job Description & How to Apply Below
Description
We are hiring role players to support training at the VA's Law Enforcement Training Center (LETC) in Little Rock, Arkansas. At least one position will be a full-time supervisor (extra $$$) and the remaining positions will be part-time (20-24 hours per week). We plan to work 3 days/week and 40 weeks/year. This is a great position for a recently retired veteran or law enforcement officer!
Role Player Criteria:
- Primary roles include, but are not limited to, patrol operations (students responding to a variety of simulated calls for service), traffic stops, active shooter response, witness interviews, suspect interrogations, and force-on-force training.
- Be able to stay on script for the scenario without adlibbing or changing the scope of the scenario itself.
- Be physically fit with no physical limitations or preexisting medical conditions that would preclude them from working in a training environment.
- Shall be familiar with basic weapons handling, including safety.
- Be able to be restrained/zip-tied for prolonged periods of time.
- Be comfortable with having trainees frisk and search them while they are restrained.
- Be able to stand and lay prone for extended periods of time with and without restraints.
- Be able to participate in scenario training where they should expect to be shot at with non-lethal marking ammunition (Si munitions, UTM, or paint balls) while wearing safety equipment (personal protective equipment).
- Be able to wear safety equipment consisting of a full-face helmet, throat guard, and groin guard.
Requirements:
- Be 18 years or older.
- Role players must have a valid driver’s license.
- Role players must be willing and able to be handcuffed repeatedly throughout the training evolution (standing, kneeling, and prone). Role players shall not have an existing condition that precludes them from being handcuffed (e.g., shoulder problems).
- Role players must be capable of standing, sitting, or lying on uneven and dirty surfaces for short amounts of time.
- Role players must be willing to work outdoors, in hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather (safety permitting).
- Role players must follow training standards and rules of behavior as set forth by the LETC.
- Role Player with Military/Law Enforcement experience/background preferred.
