Fire Water Cleaning and Restoration Technician

Job Description

A Restoration Technicianassesses, plans, and performs repairs on properties damaged by events like fire, water, or mold, using specialized equipment for tasks such as water extraction, drying, demolition, and reconstruction to return the property to its original condition.

This role requires a high school diploma, experience in construction, strong physical stamina, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and follow safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Damage Assessment:Conduct on-site inspections to determine the extent and type of damage, such as water, fire, or mold, and to develop a restoration plan.

• Restoration Processes:Perform specialized tasks like water extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, mold remediation, and fire/smoke damage cleanup.

• Repair and Reconstruction:Demolish damaged areas, repair or replace structural elements, and complete finishing work on walls, floors, and carpets.

• Equipment and Tool Management:Operate and maintain specialized restoration equipment, such as water extractors and dehumidifiers, and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored.

• Documentation:Document all restoration activities, maintain accurate records for insurance claims, and manage project details.

• Communication:Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, project managers, and other team members, providing updates on the restoration progress.

• Safety and Compliance:Adhere to health and safety regulations, industry standards likeIICRCstandards, and company safety protocols.

Skills and Qualifications

• Education:A high school diploma or GED is a minimum requirement.

• Experience:Previous experience in construction, carpentry, or remodeling is highly beneficial.
