Precision Press, a division of Taylor Corporation, is looking for a 3rd Shift Press / Print Operating Technician at our North Mankato, MN facility. The position is authorized for U.S. work only.
Shift3rd Shift: Sunday – Tuesday, 5:00PM – 5:00AM, with every other Saturday as needed.
Responsibilities- Carry out accurately and precisely detailed instructions from job orders.
- Identify possible errors or problems and take prompt action to correct them.
- Set up/adjust press for job runs to meet specifications.
- Monitor product quality during job runs and check precision against specifications.
- Take action to correct any problems with product or process.
- Monitor equipment during job runs, remain alert to mechanical problems and refer to maintenance as necessary.
- Initiate the start‑up and running of jobs in keeping with the production schedule.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and upkeep.
- Meet standards for output, waste and spoilage.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines.
- Keep workspace clean and organized for efficiency in shift change‑overs.
- Complete logs and paperwork accurately.
- Work with complex multi‑color, multi‑process inline equipment (e.g., high‑speed technical web press with finishing).
- Mechanical and technical skills/aptitude.
- Basic math skills to read ruler and calculate label dimensions for stock optimization.
- Ability to operate equipment to achieve proficiency as measured through production and quality standards.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions for work orders.
- Professional communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to exchange accurate information and ideas so others understand.
- Work safely in an environment with printing inks, solvents and chemicals, following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
- Operate machinery and handle print materials continuously.
- Move frequently within the facility.
- Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70+ pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors (preferred).
- Experience in a production‑related environment (preferred).
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $25–$30, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications and geographic location. This range is one component of Taylor’s total compensation and benefits package, which includes extensive health, dental, vision and wellness programs, life and disability coverage, flexible and health savings accounts, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off (PTO) and 64 hours of annual holiday pay.
