Requisition
Overview
The Process Engineer reviews customer requirements and translates them into work orders. Material requirements and manufacturing instructions are defined in these work orders. The role includes developing the quality plan for each work order and preparing cost estimates for incoming customer requests.
Responsibilities (Duties)- Communicate material and subcontract requirements and obtain quotations from the Purchasing department.
- Conduct contract reviews of technical requirements versus quotation.
- Complete manufacturing and quality planning for projects using the ERP system to create the router, maintain part hierarchy and drawing/revision documentation.
- Provide technical support for Sales, customers, manufacturing, and purchasing.
- Dispositon non-conformances, perform root cause analysis and corrective actions; report to the customer when required.
- Create 3D models, fixture drawings, process drawings, weld maps, and inspection data checklists.
- Review and disposition Engineering Change Requests.
- Conduct job release and post-job review meetings.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement/Productivity activities with manufacturing personnel.
- Review Customer Change Requests and evaluate cost and delivery impact.
Must maintain regular attendance as determined by the employer. Must be available and willing to work overtime as necessary to meet business needs.
Knowledge, SkillsGeneral knowledge of blueprint reading and drafting, including basic GD&T. Proficiency with Solid Works, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems. Strong math skills (algebra, trigonometry, geometry) and understanding of machining and fabrication processes and capabilities.
Experience and EducationMinimum of 10 years related work experience. B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related engineering field preferred.
TravelMust be available and willing to travel as needed to meet business needs.
