Associate Product Development Engineer
We are hiring for an Associate Product Development Engineer to join our Product Development & Innovation team in North Olmsted, OH. You will collaboratively improve the designs of existing products, making them more robust and cost effective, while defining overall product platform designs and rules for our product lines from ideation through launch. You will use analytical and empirical engineering methods to ensure product designs meet all user, business, and compliance requirements.
LocationThis position is eligible for a hybrid schedule working out of our North Olmsted, OH office. Remote days are Monday and Friday.
Responsibilities- Develop innovative new products and extend current product lines.
- Work with team members to develop capable, cost‑effective manufacturing and assembly processes concurrent to product design activities to ensure robust designs are delivered.
- Problem solve and perform failure analysis using engineering analysis tools.
- Actively participate in Design Reviews / DFM / DFA for new products.
- Proactively compile, prepare and present data for timely project updates and technical presentations.
- Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Experience with 3‑D modeling CAD software.
- Self‑motivated and works well in a collaborative design culture.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Desire to work hand‑on, prototype and troubleshoot proactively.
- Prior co‑op or internship experience.
- Experience with Solid Works and/or 3DX.
- Experience with Failure Analysis, FEA, DRBFM, FMEA, DOE, and DFMA.
- Ability to apply engineering principles (fluid, mechanical, thermal).
- Interpretation of statistics related to manufacturing processes and part design.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Tolerance stack‑up and analysis.
Base salary range: $55,000 – $88,000 USD. Salary may vary based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees may participate in an annual bonus plan or a role‑based sales incentive plan.
