We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Telephony / VoIP Technician to join our growing IT team. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting business phone and VoIP systems for multiple client environments. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically skilled, and comfortable working both onsite and remotely.
Key Responsibilities- Install and configure VoIP phone systems, handsets, and related hardware
- Manage user provisioning, extensions, call routing, and voicemail
- Troubleshoot call quality, connectivity, and network-related telephony issues
- Work with firewalls, switches, and routers to optimize voice traffic (QoS, VLANs, SIP, etc.)
- Perform system upgrades, firmware updates, and backups
Coordinate number porting and carrier communications - Document configurations, changes, and support tickets
- Provide end-user training and clear communication with clients
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
- 4+ years of experience with VoIP or business phone systems
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with SIP trunks and hosted PBX platforms
- Familiarity with firewalls and switch configuration
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for onsite roles)
- Experience with platforms such as 3CX, Ring Central, Vonage, Mitel, or similar
- MSP or multi-client support experience
- Experience with structured cabling and rack installations
