Overview
Appointed by the Mayor and working under the overall direction of the Mayor, the Director is responsible for strategically positioning, organizing, directing, supervising, and accepting accountability for the Economic and Community Development Department. The Director is the executive official in charge of the department and implements all legislation adopted by City Council. The Director shall confer with the Mayor in developing the strategic direction of the department.
The Economic and Community Development Director leads the planning, strategy, and implementation of initiatives that promote sustainable economic growth, business attraction and retention, workforce development, neighborhood revitalization, and community investment. The Director works closely with municipal leadership, regional partners, businesses, developers, and residents to strengthen the local economy and improve quality of life.
QualificationsAn example of acceptable qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, City Planning, Urban Studies, candidates with an OhioCED or Economic Development Finance Professional Certification are preferred with at least two (2) years’ experience in the Economic Development or City planning.
Starting Salary Range $90,000 - $120,899 annual
