Position: Director of Nursing (DON)

isa 99-bed facility providing long-term care, skilled rehabilitation, and memory care to our community.

We are seeking a vibrant and experienced Director of Nursing who will be responsible for making a compelling difference in the lives of our residents by promoting excellent customer service and clinical innovation.

As the Director of Nursing (DON) for our skilled nursing facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents. You will oversee all nursing operations, lead a team of dedicated healthcare professionals, and collaborate with other departments to maintain compliance with regulations and uphold our commitment to excellence in patient care.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Leadership:
    • Provide clinical oversight and guidance to nursing staff to ensure adherence to best practices, standards of care, and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting evidence-based practices and staff development initiatives.
  • Staff Management:
    • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing personnel.
    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance staff performance and job satisfaction.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that promotes teamwork, communication, and respect among staff members.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing nursing practices, healthcare delivery, and facility operations.
    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and participate in surveys, audits, and inspections to maintain accreditation and licensure.
    • Implement corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives as needed to address deficiencies and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI):
    • Develop and oversee QAPI programs to monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality and effectiveness of nursing services.
    • Analyze data, trends, and outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
    • Lead interdisciplinary teams in root cause analysis, action planning, and performance monitoring to achieve quality goals and objectives.
  • Interdisciplinary

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to meet the individual needs of residents.
    • Facilitate interdisciplinary meetings to discuss resident progress, coordinate care transitions, and address complex medical and psychosocial issues.
    • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments to promote effective communication and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Valid State licensure as an RN
  • Familiar with local, state & federal regulations for Long-Term Care
  • Experience in supervising nursing staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with residents, families, and other employees at all levels.
