Overview

As a Specialist – Footwear at DICK’S Sporting Goods, you will work in a fast‑paced retail environment building a personalized, athlete‑first experience. You will drive sales, support teammates, and deliver expert footwear guidance focused on fit, performance, and comfort. Your role is to create a world‑class athlete experience and support a culture of teamwork, service, and continuous improvement.

• Delivers an outstanding athlete experience by proactively engaging athletes to understand their shopping needs and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Anticipates the needs of the athlete; actively drives sales through product and services recommendations and a deep understanding of athlete needs.
• Assists with onboarding and training of new and existing team members, focusing on best practices, exceptional selling skills, and key operational processes.
• Serves as a go‑to expert in designated process categories, ensuring smooth execution and high productivity.
• Demonstrates efficiency and effectiveness in process execution while maintaining an athlete‑first mindset, ensuring products are ready for athletes to purchase and athletes are engaged when, where, and how they want.
• Upholds company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor set plans, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, etc.
• Promotes and drives customer participation in company programs (e.g., customer loyalty program participation, warranty sales, private label credit card enrollment).
• Creates a store environment where everyone, both teammates and athletes, are always welcome and treated with respect.
• Adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as to laws/guidelines of external governing entities.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience; previous retail or customer‑facing experience preferred.

• Targeted Pay Range: $15.50 – $23.50 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on location, experience, and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
