Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

Overview

Duration: 12+ months contract with potential extends or Convert

Job Description:

• Develops accounting policy through analysis of GAAP and business practices. Ensures accounting treatment is practical, cost-beneficial, and accurately portrays the economic substance of business transactions.
• Prepares schedules and journal entries
• Prepare monthly state and federal reports for the following agencies:
• General Land Office (GLO)
• Louisiana Department of Natural Resources (LDNR)
• Office of Natural Resources Revenue (ONRR)
• Commissioner of Land Office (CLO)
• Severance Tax Filings for the following States:
• Texas
• Louisiana
• Maintain tax rates and new setups within ERP.
• Record severance tax reimbursements related to marketing fee adjustments.
• Calculate and process owner interest payments.
• Assist with owner inquiries.
• Special projects or task as needed

• Experience in accounting leadership, policy development, and corporate financial strategy.
• Experience in acquisition/divestiture transactions, oil and gas industry accounting.
• Directs strategic accounting policy, provides expert consultation on complex financial transactions, and ensures corporate compliance with financial regulations.

• Build and maintain cross-departmental relationships to ensure information flow.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required; CPA, CMA, MBA, or Master  in Accounting preferred.
