Description:

Engineering and Construction Support Center (ECSC) is currently seeking an experienced GIS CAD Technician II with strong expertise in ArcGIS/Esri technologies to support engineering and construction teams through mobile GIS solutions, field application deployment, technical assessments, and end-user training. This candidate will apply diversified knowledge of GIS, CAD technology, geospatial data management, and construction support processes to renewable energy projects including wind, solar, and battery energy storage sites.

The successful candidate will work independently on technical assignments related to ArcGIS Field Maps configuration, deployment, GIS data management, and field operations support. This role requires strong communication and training skills to effectively support construction managers, superintendents, and field personnel in fast-paced environments. Approximately 25% travel to construction sites is required, with the remainder of work performed remotely or from the Juno Beach office.

Primary Areas of Responsibility - ArcGIS Field Maps Deployment & Construction Support:

• Configure, deploy, and maintain quality assessment forms using ArcGIS Field Maps

• Support construction teams with mobile GIS applications and field data collection workflows

• Create and manage GIS datasets, layers, and geodatabases for renewable energy construction projects

• Perform data reviews, edits, and spatial analysis using ArcGIS Pro

• Serve as primary GIS technical support resource for construction field teams and project stakeholders

• Travel to construction sites to assist with technical assessments, implementation activities, and troubleshooting

• Provide onsite and remote training to site superintendents, construction managers, and field users

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, workflow guides, and training materials

• Coordinate with engineering, GIS, and construction teams to improve field data collection and reporting processes

• Support deployment and adoption of GIS mobile solutions across wind, solar, and battery storage projects

Supporting Areas of Responsibility - GIS & CAD Operations:

• Support CAD drafting and production of engineering drawings using established standards and specifications

• Assist with project coordination and geospatial data management activities

• Support ArcGIS Enterprise and broader Esri platform initiatives as needed

• Troubleshoot GIS application and mobile device issues for field personnel

• Support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes for GIS and field data collection workflows

• Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives

• Provide technical direction, support, and mentoring to junior staff when necessary

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, Geomatics, or related technical field required

• Associate Degree with equivalent work experience in GIS, CAD, or Engineering Technology may be considered

• 6+ years of experience with GIS technologies, CAD drafting, or geospatial data management

• Strong experience with ArcGIS Field Maps and ArcGIS Pro

• Experience with GIS applications, geodatabases, and spatial data management

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to train and support non-technical users in field environments

• Experience supporting construction, infrastructure, utility, or renewable energy projects

• ArcGIS Enterprise experience

• Experience supporting wind, solar, or battery energy storage construction projects

• Experience conducting technical training sessions and creating user documentation

• Knowledge of mobile GIS deployment and field operations support

• Six Sigma Yellow Belt preferred

• Experience with QA/QC workflows and process improvement initiatives

• Professional certification in CAD, GIS, or Engineering Technology preferred

• Experience working in fast-paced construction or operations environments
