Job Description
This position assists in the overall management of assigned projects to ensure compliance with required budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. Employees in this role support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.
Responsibilities include assessing productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on assigned projects. Participates in walkdowns of planned work, validates acceptance of completed work to design requirements, and reviews contractor payment requests. Verifies constructability, ensures proper resource allocation, assesses field status, and resolves issues as needed.
Coordinates project activities with vendors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local community officials, and internal teams. Assists in scope control, budget oversight, technical issue resolution, performance reporting, scheduling, and work-in-progress tracking. Interfaces with landowners, local regulators, and state agencies.
Reinforces expectations related to safety, procedure compliance, lessons learned, corrective actions, and appropriate work behaviors for employees and contractor staff. Coordinates activities across safety programs, engineering, construction, budgeting, analytics, and contract administration. Interfaces with project management committees and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
This is an in-office position located in Juno Beach, FL within the Pre-Construction (Early Stage) group. The role combines technical, construction, commercial, and financial responsibilities and offers opportunities for career growth within project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned Solar projects while working collaboratively with the Regional Lead to manage projects through the Early-Stage process in preparation for turnover to the Construction team
- Ensure assigned Solar projects are technically feasible, schedule appropriate, commercially supported, and financially viable
- Analyze technical and financial data to identify variables, indicators, and trends related to assigned projects
- Support the creation, ownership, and management of Solar project capital budgets
- Provide development and permitting support while coordinating with subject matter experts and engineering teams
- Support problem resolution, capital budget approvals, construction planning, scheduling, and execution of commercial contracts
- Investigate optimization opportunities to improve project performance
- Utilize various software applications to manage project activities, deliverables, and critical data
- Communicate project updates and interface with Executive Leadership alongside the Regional Lead
- Prepare and assist in hosting pre-bid and pre-construction meetings
- Provide ongoing project status updates to internal stakeholders
- Support risk mitigation, resource allocation optimization, and adherence to project safety and performance goals
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Land Surveying, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- PMP Certification preferred
- 11-15 years of experience leading construction projects and managing scope control, scheduling, compliance requirements, and project execution
- Experience in the construction, renewable energy, or Solar industry preferred
- Strong organizational skills and familiarity with project management tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently under limited direction
- Ability to manage fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Strong analytical, financial, and data analysis skills
- Capable of balancing technical, commercial, and financial project requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Mechanical awareness and/or interest in technical variables
- Experience in Construction, Energy, and/or Solar projects
- Strong interest in long-term career growth within Project Management
- Experience using project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Smartsheet
- Understanding of wind turbine construction and inspections is a plus
- Ability to interface with cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and executive leadership
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to maintain project organization, data deliverables, team readiness, and project viability
