Engineer-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)
This role is responsible for performing engineering assignments ranging from limited scope to advanced projects requiring expertise in multiple disciplines. The position involves working with increasing independence based on experience, focusing on utility-scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations. The engineer will assist with project management, ensure regulatory compliance, and support technical teams to meet project specifications, safety standards, and long-term performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project engineering responsibilities, including schedule and budget oversight.
- Coordinate with environmental, procurement, and construction teams.
- Lead engineering reviews, value engineering assessments, and design optimization processes.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of engineering designs, project plans, and system specifications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project objectives.
- Identify potential design risks and provide corrective recommendations.
- Support the seamless integration of engineering work into broader project timelines.
- Engage in technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
Experience:
6 - 10 years of experience managing engineering projects, including applications in solar, BESS, or the power industry.
Technical
Skills:
Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following specialized engineering functions:
- Electrical/I&C Engineering: Electric distribution systems, power systems, ladder logic, and computational tools (ETAP, EDISON).
- Mechanical Engineering: Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pipe stress analysis, and ASME standards.
- Civil/Structural Engineering: Design and management of civil infrastructure, foundations, site grading, drainage systems, seismic qualification, and pipe supports (GT Strudel, welding, rigging).
- MOV Valve Engineering: Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and valve program management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong project management and communication skills.
- Experience with large-scale engineering projects.
- The ability to drive will be required for this position.
