Role Overview
This position is responsible for the overall management of the team and assigned projects, ensuring compliance with budgetary, scheduling, and safety goals. The role involves coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and vendors, overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction activities to develop, license, erect, and start-up projects for commercial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with various disciplines to determine project priorities and work plans.
- Manage department resources to provide effective early-stage project development support.
- Ensure projects are implemented efficiently, effectively, and safely in accordance with department procedures.
- Manage walk-downs of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work, and approve contractor payment requests.
- Verify constructability, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed.
- Lead project meetings and review budgets, risk trackers, and contingency allocations.
- Interface with project-designated management committees.
- Supervise or coordinate activities such as safety programs, engineering, construction, and contract administration.
- Oversee commissioning activities to meet corporate objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing the commissioning of SCADA equipment.
- Knowledge of process control commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of AC and DC circuits and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to understand electrical, SCADA, and communication schematics and drawings.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), RTUs, meters, networking equipment, and fiber optic equipment.
- Familiarity with Ignition, OPC Servers, and SCADA historian.
- Knowledge of automation protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, CAN, OPC, and Ether Net/IP.
- Experience with managed switches (Hirschman, MOXA, Cisco).
- Understanding of Networking, Cyber Security, and Firewalls.
- Knowledge of renewable SCADA and control systems.
- Project Management experience handling multiple consultants, vendors, and EPCs.
Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Working at a desk with a computer monitor for extensive periods.
- Bending, stooping, and twisting frequently.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
- Ability to travel as required.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $60.00 and $72.00 per hour.
