Responsibilities
Kforce is hiring a Project Estimator in Juno Beach, FL. The role involves preparing and managing cost estimates for a wide range of projects, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with organizational objectives. This entry‑level position offers growth opportunities within project estimating, covering technologies such as wind, solar, energy storage, transmission, water treatment, 5G, hydrogen, pipelines, and fossil generation.
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates, including conceptual, preliminary, and definitive estimates for new and existing projects.
- Perform conceptual engineering design and develop preliminary plans to support estimating scope quantification.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and related teams to gather and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
- Conduct value engineering analysis to identify cost‑saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain estimation tools, databases, and methodologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimating processes.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to account for potential project uncertainties.
- Present cost estimates and value engineering options to senior management, project stakeholders, and clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with methods, materials, and equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior team members.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in project estimating.
- Internship or practical experience in management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cost estimation software and tools (e.g., Plan Swift, Win Est, CostX, or similar).
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Ability to work in a standard office environment.
- Occasional travel to project sites for meetings, inspections, and collaboration with on‑site teams.
- This position is based in our corporate office with occasional visits to project sites.
- The work environment is fast‑paced and requires the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
