Construction Supervisor-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)
This role supports the successful field execution of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and associated Substation construction projects. The position involves providing day-to-day oversight of contractor activities, monitoring safety and quality, tracking construction progress, and assisting with coordinating field operations. The role requires a strong field presence and a solid understanding of commercial and utility construction practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and financial support for projects, including reviewing contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor and oversee contractor activities for assigned work.
- Develop and refine routes for energy projects, including conducting field visits to support pre-construction preparation.
- Apply value engineering concepts to optimize routing criteria for late-stage activities such as permitting.
- Identify and evaluate routing risks with input from subject matter experts in Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land.
- Communicate and discuss risks with various subject matter experts.
- Ensure problem-solving within highly regulated permitting requirements.
- Maintain a detail-oriented approach while keeping sight of the larger project vision.
Required Qualifications
Education:
An Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Experience:
A total of 6 to 10 years of experience is required in supporting the technical and financial aspects of construction projects, which includes contractor oversight.
Technical
Skills:
A functional understanding of key criteria for route development, including cost, engineering concerns, and environmental constraints is necessary. Experience with route refinement and performing siting tradeoff decisions is also required. Proficiency with Microsoft Word is expected.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with geospatial applications such as Google Earth and/or GIS is preferred.
Work Environment
Travel within the U.S. is expected for approximately 25% of the time. This position requires driving; therefore, a valid, non-restricted driver's license must be maintained. Per diem and mobility/demobilization expenses will be available for this assignment.
