Construction Supervisor-Level 3 - Senior
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field supervision of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and associated Substation construction activities. This role serves as the onsite field representative, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and schedule commitments. The position will also provide technical and financial support, including the review of contract documents and plant design criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct oversight of contractor field operations from a QA/QC standpoint.
- Coordinate daily construction activities across multiple disciplines.
- Identify and resolve field issues to maintain project timeline and quality.
- Support successful project commissioning and turnover.
- Develop and refine project routing criteria, ensuring compliance with cost, engineering, and environmental constraints.
- Lead coordination between technical teams, including Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Legal, Development, and Land.
- Perform field visits to verify and support pre-construction preparation for energy projects.
- Oversee route refinement using value engineering or other applicable concepts.
- Review contract documents, plant design criteria, drawings, and specifications.
Required Qualifications
Education:
An Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
11 to 15 years of experience managing the technical aspects of routing, siting, and construction projects.
Skills
- Functional understanding of key criteria used to develop routing across functions such as cost, engineering, and environmental constraints.
- Experience with route refinement using value engineering to optimize criteria for late-stage activities.
- Ability to perform routing and siting tradeoff decisions in the presence of uncertainty.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with various subject matter experts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
Work Environment
This position is designated as remote. Travel within the US is expected at approximately 25%. A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required.
