Planner Scheduler-Level 3 - Senior (11 - 15 Years)

This position holds the responsibility for scheduling and dispatching generation resources to economically balance load and generation, meeting real-time system conditions and complying with regulatory requirements and NERC reliability standards. The role involves planning, scheduling, and tracking to ensure operational and regulatory compliance, developing work orders, and coordinating between operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead scheduling processes for maintenance, compliance, and project execution.
• Develop work orders and ensure coordination between operations.
• Evaluate and approve OASIS requests and Tags.
• Perform hourly and on-peak/off-peak energy accounting functions with adjacent balancing authorities.
• Coordinate the committing, decommitting, and outages of power plants.
• Ensure rapid recovery from loss of generation to comply with NERC requirements.
• Evaluate and improve work management execution and lead root cause analysis for operational efficiency improvements.
• Run Economy A program to provide generation and cost projections for economy purchases and sales.
• Perform next-day generation planning functions and temporarily cover certain system operator functions.

Required Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a professional certification is required.

Experience:

11 - 15 years of experience in managing power system scheduling, project execution, and compliance reporting.

Technical

Skills:

Proficiency in NERC compliance and operational reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred.
