Sr. Project Manager - Gas Generation

Our organization is advancing a significant gas generation portfolio. We are seeking a Project Manager to support our Engineering & Construction (E&C) engagement across gas project development activities, from early-stage technical assessments through construction readiness and project execution. This role requires a disciplined project management background, a strong sense of ownership over cost and schedule risk, and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment in a fast-moving environment.

The immediate focus will be on project reporting development and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support E&C participation in Technology Review, Preliminary Engineering phases, and contracting for active hub gas development projects.
• Coordinate E&C SME inputs for site configuration reviews, constructability assessments, and balance-of-plant evaluations.
• Track development and regulatory milestones, ensuring construction-phase dependencies are identified and flagged early.
• Maintain project schedules, cost benchmarks, and cash flow models in support of project sanction decisions.
• Own and maintain the E&C risk register for hub projects, tracking scope, schedule, cost, and constructability risks.
• Manage the entire project budget, working with the Project Controller for accuracy.
• Manage monthly and quarterly progress reporting, including schedule status, cost performance, risk exposure, and milestone tracking.
• Develop and maintain project dashboards and status packages for executive-level review using tools like Excel.
• Coordinate with Integrated Supply Chain on RFQ inputs, technical scope review, and bid evaluation for major equipment and EPC/EPCM scopes.
• Track long-lead equipment status and flag supply chain constraints.

Required Qualifications

Education:

A Bachelor's degree is required. An Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or Finance degree is preferred.

Experience:

At least 6 years of experience in the gas industry and project management. Experience should include energy project development or large capital construction, with demonstrated experience in project controls and schedule development for major capital projects. Must have experience managing an existing budget or creating one.

Technical

Skills:

Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Excel. Strong organizational and documentation skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction experience, particularly having worked in or built power plants.
• Experience with combined cycle or simple cycle gas development projects.
• Familiarity with interconnection processes and associated E&C scope implications.
• Experience coordinating long-lead equipment procurement in constrained OEM markets.
• Exposure to balance-of-plant scopes including switchyard, transmission, and civil/site infrastructure.
