- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
- 6+ years' experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly preferred.

- Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
- PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.
Job Description:
This role is responsible for managing all assigned renewable generation substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. During the conceptual phase, the Project Engineer partners with the Early-Stage Project Manager and Development Group to define engineering requirements, project scope, and technical strategy. These projects may originate as FERC Order 1000 competitive transmission proposals or as greenfield projects supporting Next Era Energy affiliates, including Lone Star, Grid Liance, Florida Renewable Partners, and Florida Power & Light.
The Project Engineer plans, coordinates, and delivers large-scale, complex projects while ensuring they remain on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities include developing detailed work plans, project schedules, cost estimates, resource plans, and status reports. The role requires managing project resources, budgets, risks, and changes using established processes and tools, while leading project meetings, tracking progress, and identifying and resolving issues throughout the project lifecycle.
This individual serves as a key point of communication for both internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies. The role also involves creating presentations and briefing materials for meetings with leadership, clients, and project teams, as well as supporting project reporting and governance activities.
A significant responsibility is providing technical oversight and due diligence for external Engineers of Record (EORs) to ensure compliance with generation interconnection agreements, project specifications, scope of work documents, site-specific design requirements, and applicable industry standards such as IEEE, NESC, and ASCE. The Project Engineer is responsible for securing engineering consulting resources by developing scopes of work, soliciting bids, evaluating proposals, and coordinating awards through the Integrated Supply Chain team.
