Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, MIS, Information Systems, or related field
• Strong Excel skills for ad-hoc reporting (macros/VBA preferred)
• SQL experience, including query writing, data extraction, maintenance, and minor development
• Background as a Financial Analyst, Technical Financial Analyst, Business Analyst, Trade Operations Analyst, or Techno-Functional Analyst
• Experience supporting P&L reporting, reconciliations, financial operations, or trade operations
• Experience working with large datasets, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining data quality
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with traders, brokers, developers, and business stakeholders
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities
• Must be local to Juno Beach and able to work onsite 5 days per week
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Commodity trading, energy trading, trade operations, middle office, settlements, or risk experience
• Experience supporting traders, brokers, schedulers, or a trading floor environment
• Understanding of the trade lifecycle including trade capture, validation, reconciliation, and reporting
• Experience with power, natural gas, oil, or energy derivatives markets
• VBA/Macros experience
• Experience working closely with developers and technical stakeholders
• Exposure to physical and financial trading transactions
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Trading Analyst to join a fast-paced commodities trading organization. This role sits at the intersection of finance, technology, and trade operations, supporting traders and business stakeholders through P&L reporting, trade validation, data analysis, and operational support. The ideal candidate will have strong Excel and SQL skills, experience working with financial or trading data, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment where priorities can shift quickly.
This individual will partner closely with traders, brokers, and technical teams to ensure accurate reporting, maintain critical operational processes, and support trading activity across the full trade lifecycle. The right candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable communicating with stakeholders, and interested in building expertise within commodity and energy trading operations.
Day-to-Day:
• Manage and support daily P&L reporting for the trading organization
• Capture, validate, and reconcile trade transactions across commodity markets
• Partner directly with traders, brokers, and business stakeholders to support daily trading operations
• Work closely with the Lead Trading Developer on operational and reporting initiatives
• Build and maintain ad-hoc reports and financial analysis in Excel
• Write and maintain SQL queries to support reporting and daily workflows
• Investigate trade, reporting, and P&L discrepancies
• Work through large volumes of financial and trading data while supporting day-to-day operations
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency to support real-time trading decisions
• Communicate operational updates, issues, and resolutions across business and technical teams
• Provide ongoing analytical and operational support throughout the trade lifecycle
Pay rate starts at $25/hr
