IT Software Developer Analyst-Level 2 - Experienced (6 - 10 Years)

We are seeking a database-focused analyst with strong SQL skills and a meticulous eye for detail. This role is responsible for the development and integration of new or existing applications into the technical infrastructure. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, challenges assumptions to protect data integrity, and can blend hands-on database skills with a business analyst mindset to translate business needs into data logic.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, update, and audit relational databases (PostgreSQL), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries, including multi-table joins, aggregations, and validation checks.
• Perform data quality checks, reconcile discrepancies, and document root causes and resolutions.
• Build and maintain Excel-based audit tools using pivots, lookups, and Power Query for reporting and verification.
• Partner with internal users to gather requirements, clarify needs, and translate business logic into data definitions.
• Create and maintain documentation for table definitions, field mappings, audit results, and change logs.
• Support process improvements and controls around data updates, permissions, and governance.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and full-stack applications.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. 6-10 years of experience in application development, cloud computing, and enterprise software architecture. Demonstrated experience in managing, updating, and auditing datasets is necessary.

Technical Skills

• Strong SQL experience, particularly with PostgreSQL or an equivalent.
• Solid understanding of relational database fundamentals (keys, constraints, normalization).
• Advanced Excel skills (filters, pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, data validation).
• Proficiency in Python, Power BI, Java, .NET, and AWS cloud-based technologies.

Professional Skills

• Proven ability to investigate inconsistencies, ask probing questions, and validate assumptions.
• Demonstrated experience performing data audits and documenting findings and remediation steps.
• Comfortable owning ambiguous requests and independently questioning stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Ability to explain logic and assumptions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in AWS, Microsoft Power BI, Salesforce, or IT Project Management (PMP, Agile, SAFe).
• Familiarity with mechanical or engineering environments.
• Experience with AVEVA PI (PI System) or time-series data concepts.
• Familiarity with IBM Maximo asset management.
• Knowledge of Dev Ops practices, cloud automation, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices architecture.
• Experience acting as a Business Analyst, including gathering requirements and defining acceptance criteria.
• Understanding of security and compliance requirements like SOX and cybersecurity best practices.
