Business Manager
Position Specific Description Business Management is responsible for the overall performance of a portfolio of operating assets including the development and execution of plans to optimize financial performance of the assets. As the Business Manager, you will be responsible for the performance of a portfolio of operating assets, with full P&L accountability for the South region portfolio (primarily SPP). You will manage customer relationships and ensure compliance with power purchase agreements, while overseeing financing and regulatory requirements and developing commercial strategies, including repowering and recontracting initiatives.
You will collaborate with various cross-functional teams, including Next Era Energy Power Marketing, Power Generation Division, Accounting, NEER Development, Project Finance Group, and other Business Management teams. Additionally, this role involves leading special projects to optimize the performance of existing renewable assets and support new development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop major work streams across the region, including asset repowering plans.
- Coordinate and manage projects throughout their lifecycle, from design to execution.
- Prepare analysis, reporting, and scorecards to track value creation and performance against plan.
- Maintain close working relationships with partners, customers, and stakeholders.
- Negotiate and resolve disputes related to PPAs and other stakeholder contracts.
- Develop and refine market and regulatory strategies to improve asset performance.
- Lead or participate in special projects across Business Management, including process improvement opportunities.
- Create executive-level presentations for senior management.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Power marketing experience or commercial skills are a plus.
- Proven ability to manage the overall performance of a portfolio of operating assets.
- Experience in developing and executing plans to optimize financial performance of assets.
- Ability to handle customer relationships, compliance with power purchase agreements, financing and regulatory requirements, and strategy, including repowering.
Job Overview Employees in this position support the overall P and L management of one or more Next Era generating assets or upstream/midstream assets that have achieved commercial operation. This role supports strategic decision-making with respect to such assets, including hedging, operations and maintenance. This role identifies opportunities and analyzes the impact on company financials to maximize P and L profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages and improves the generating asset or upstream/midstream assets P and L including optimization of asset interaction with energy markets
- Completes budgets and monthly forecasts, financial analyses, ad hoc reports, and modeling
- Ensures compliance with power purchase agreements, land leases, financings and regulatory requirements
- Works with teams throughout the company in a coordinator capacity
- Maintains close working relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Monitors project operations
- Conducts analysis on issues impacting operations and proactively identifies opportunities for improvement
- Assists with value-added projects such as supporting regional leadership in the development of strategic plans, mergers and acquisitions, project development, asset optimization, restructurings and building relationships with off-takers, landowners, and state and local regulators
