The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of equipment, machinery, and building systems. This role involves conducting routine inspections, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues and completing repairs in a timely manner.
Responsibilities- Work closely with management regarding facility updates, process, and feedback.
- Identify, diagnose, and fix mechanical, electrical, or plumbing issues with machines, tools, HVAC systems, or other building systems.
- Address maintenance requests from employees or management, prioritizing urgent repairs or system malfunctions.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
- Assist with the installation of new equipment or machinery and replace or upgrade worn‑out parts.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to track work progress and maintain historical logs for compliance.
- Support general facility maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, or structural repairs as needed.
- Perform tasks such as aesthetic enhancements, installing shelves, assembling furniture, and relocating furniture and equipment.
- Problem‑solve facility issues with an assortment of facility equipment, tools, plumbing, appliances etc.
- Work closely with other departments, such as production or operations, to ensure that maintenance work does not interfere with daily activities and that machines and systems are functioning properly.
- Provide on‑call or emergency maintenance support when needed, including off‑hours or in critical situations.
- Additional tasks may be assigned at any time by management.
- High school diploma or an equivalent degree such as a GED.
- Previous experience in Facilities or Maintenance field is required.
- 5 years of experience in maintenance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to perform a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to diagnose issues, analyze situations, and troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.
- Ensuring that all repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks are completed thoroughly and accurately.
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage time well, particularly when dealing with multiple maintenance requests or emergencies.
- Strong understanding of how equipment and machinery operate, with the ability to make hands‑on repairs and adjustments.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to follow regulations to ensure the workplace is safe for everyone.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments, especially when explaining technical issues and solutions.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods, and the ability to operate heavy machinery or tools.
