The Special Education Teacher provides specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The successful candidate will create an inclusive, student-centered learning environment that promotes academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement standards-aligned instruction based on students' IEP goals and individual needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collect and analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions.
- Differentiate instruction and utilize evidence-based practices to support diverse learners.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring records, and compliance timelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development activities, and school-based teams.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities endorsement or Teacher of the Handicapped certification required.
- Appropriate New Jersey instructional certificate required.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs preferred.
