Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services.
- Promote the Design program and assist the Designer in achieving sales goals.
- Consistently execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process and strive to provide a favorable experience to all customers.
- Develop and utilize sales skills and principles including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, portfolio presentations, answering objections, closing, follow‑up, after‑sale service, and continuing contact with previous and potential customers.
- Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs.
- Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product lines.
- Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables, and accessory recommendations.
- Execute and champion the Design process following established company guidelines.
- Support design‑related functions in the store.
- Provide the highest level of customer service and follow the company selling process.
- Effectively use Podium for customer satisfaction and future follow‑up.
- Make sound business decisions to promote customer satisfaction and a team environment.
- Assist with phone calls, emails, and customer issue resolution.
- Train, coach, and develop new peers on product knowledge and selling processes.
- Maintain visual appearance of the store, including displays, tagging, and catalogs.
- Accurately complete order information, collect deposits, and keep organized customer records.
- Schedule deliveries with customers and ensure deliveries meet store standards.
- Open and close the store.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous selling experience and strong closing ability preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport and influence.
- Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills.
- Time‑management skills to handle conflicting priorities.
- Ability to work the schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
- Base pay: $13 per hour (varies by location) after 2–6 weeks of training.
- Commission rates vary from 2%–6% based on sales type.
- Uncapped commission and quarterly bonus opportunity up to $3,500.
- Training pay: $16 per hour for the first 2–6 weeks.
- Average post‑training total earnings: $50,000–$70,000+.
