The Middle School Assistant Baseball Coach supports the Head Coach in providing a positive, instructional, and developmentally appropriate baseball experience for student‑athletes. The assistant coach helps teach fundamentals, reinforces team expectations, and promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic responsibility. This position works closely with the Head Coach and Athletic Department to ensure a safe and well‑organized program.

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices focused on skill development, fundamentals, and game preparation
• Provide instruction in baseball techniques appropriate for middle school athletes
• Supervise student‑athletes during practices and competitions to ensure safety and adherence to district and NJSIAA guidelines
• Support game‑day responsibilities, including warm‑ups, dugout supervision, and equipment management
• Reinforce team rules, school policies, and expectations for behavior and sportsmanship
• Communicate effectively with the Head Coach regarding athlete progress, concerns, and needs
• Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student‑athletes
• Assist with equipment setup, inventory, and cleanup
• Promote a balanced student‑athlete experience by emphasizing time management, responsibility, and academic effort

• Current New Jersey teaching certificate or New Jersey substitute certification as required by district policy.
• Knowledge of football fundamentals and strategies appropriate for middle school athletes.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
