We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to support the financial operations of a diverse group of six companies. These entities operate across multiple industries, including gas stations, travel centers, hospitality, fuel transportation, commercial real estate, construction, and catering services.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and demonstrates strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily data entry and maintain accurate financial records within IRely accounting software
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple entities
• Prepare and analyze monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies
• Support financial reporting and provide variance analysis as needed
• Maintain documentation and ensure proper recordkeeping for audits and compliance
• Collaborate with operations teams across different business units to ensure accurate financial data
• Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience (multi-entity or multi-industry experience preferred)
• Experience with IRely or similar ERP/accounting systems strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
• Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• Experience in industries such as fuel distribution, retail, hospitality, construction, or property management
• Familiarity with intercompany transactions and consolidations
• Experience supporting audits or working with external auditors
