Position: Material Coordinator – Construction (Transmission)

North Central United States (Project-Based, On-Site)

Full-Time | Rotational (6 Weeks On / 1 Week Off)

Support Field Execution Through Material Coordination

We are seeking a Material Coordinator to support a large-scale transmission construction project across the North Central United States.

This is a site-based, field-integrated role responsible for ensuring materials are received, tracked, staged, and delivered in alignment with construction execution across multiple work fronts, laydown yards, and assembly areas.

The Role

The Material Coordinator plays a critical role in keeping construction moving by ensuring materials are available, properly handled, and aligned with installation sequencing.

This role works closely with:

  • Quality teams
  • Procurement and Supply Chain

This is not a warehouse-only role - it requires active coordination with field teams and real-time support of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of materials across multiple laydown yards and work fronts
  • Support material staging and sequencing aligned with construction schedules and crew requirements
  • Coordinate delivery of materials to active work areas in collaboration with field supervision
  • Proactively identify material shortages, misallocations, or delivery conflicts
Inventory & Traceability
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking across yards, assembly areas, and work fronts
  • Track material movement and ensure alignment with project requirements
  • Support traceability requirements (heat numbers, batch tracking, certifications, etc.)
  • Coordinate with Quality to ensure materials meet inspection and compliance standards
  • Support planning and scheduling of deliveries in alignment with procurement and construction plans
  • Coordinate with vendors, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries
  • Resolve delivery, packaging, or documentation issues
Systems, Reporting & Coordination
  • Maintain material logs, tracking systems, and reporting tools
  • Provide accurate material status updates to project teams
  • Support material inputs into project reporting and look-ahead planning
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure material handling and documentation comply with project and company standards
  • Maintain logs for tools, equipment, and certifications
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, yard organization, and coordination
What We’re Looking For Core Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in materials coordination, logistics, or supply chain within construction or infrastructure projects
  • Experience working in field-based environments supporting active construction execution
  • Familiarity with:
  • Material staging
  • Field logistics
  • Construction material types
Preferred Background
  • Experience on linear infrastructure projects (transmission, pipeline, heavy civil, etc.)
  • Experience supporting multi-workfront construction environments
Skills & Capabilities
  • Strong understanding of material flow in construction environments
  • Ability to read:
  • Bills of materials
  • Packing lists
  • Basic drawings (asset)
  • Proficiency with Excel and material tracking systems
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills across field and project teams
Work Conditions
  • Site-based role across projects in the North Central U.S.
  • Rotation: 6 weeks on / 1 week off
  • Schedule: 6 days/week, 12-hour days while on-site
  • Remote project environments with active construction operations
