Constuction Site Supervisor

Description

We are seeking a reliable and versatile Construction Site Supervisor to lead our small commercial construction crew and ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects including maintenance of various rentals, hotels and travel centers within the company. This role also involves snow removal duties during the winter months, ensuring our worksite and commercial rental areas are safe and accessible in all weather conditions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial construction and maintenance, be comfortable working in various weather conditions, and possess leadership skills to guide and supervise teams on site.

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Supervision:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day activities on the construction site for small commercial projects, ensuring compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and budgets.
• Coordinate work between the construction team, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring proper execution of plans and tasks.
• Enforce safety regulations and ensure the crew follows all safety protocols and uses personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to construction codes and plans.
• Communicate effectively with the upper management to report progress, resolve issues, and address concerns.
• Prepare and maintain site reports, and documentation of daily activities.
• Oversee the proper use and maintenance of construction equipment and materials.

Snow Removal Duties (Seasonal/Weather Dependent):

• Supervise and participate in snow removal operations to ensure the commercial parking areas for our hotels, gas stations and truck stop are clear, safe, and efficient during winter weather events.
• Operate snow removal equipment (e.g., plows, snow blowers, shovels) as needed to clear driveways, walkways, and access points for parking areas.
• Ensure snow removal is completed in a timely manner to avoid delays or safety risks.
• Coordinate with team members to address snow removal in a safe and efficient manner during extreme weather conditions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Site Supervisor or in a similar role.
• Experience in snow removal, including operation of snowplows or other snow clearing equipment, is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, and safety standards.
• Ability to lead, manage, and motivate a small team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members, contractors, and upper leadership.
• Ability to assess and resolve construction-related issues and concerns quickly and efficiently.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree or certification in construction management or a related field is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including cold, snow, and rain.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to operate snow removal equipment in winter conditions.
