Drafting & Steel Detailing Internship - 2026Our internship program is designed to provide hands‑on experience in drafting and steel detailing, giving you a strong foundation in the fundamentals of the trade. As an intern, you'll work on real‑world projects involving substation and transmission line structures, gaining practical experience that directly supports your career growth.
You'll collaborate closely with our experienced Detailing Team on customer projects across the United States, learning industry standards, best practices, and technical skills in a supportive, professional environment.

Internship Details- Schedule:
40 hours per week Monday – Thursday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Location:
In‑office at either the York or Omaha location
- Competitive starting pay: $20 per hour
- Develop detailed drawings in accordance with project scope, customer specifications, AISC requirements, and Klute Inc. detailing standards
- Review shop drawings completed by internal and external drafters
- Export 3D model components to DXF files for programming
- Hands‑on experience with real projects
- Mentorship from experienced professionals
- Exposure to large‑scale infrastructure projects
- A strong foundation for a career in drafting and steel detailing
