Job Summary: The Title I Teacher provides targeted instruction and interventions in reading and/or math to eligible elementary students who need additional academic support. This role is funded through federal Title I funding and focuses on helping students meet grade-level standards. The teacher works closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure academic progress.
Key Responsibilities- Provide small group or individualized instruction in reading and/or mathematics aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
- Use assessment data to identify eligible students and tailor interventions to meet their needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate intervention strategies within the regular education program.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Participate in Title I program planning, evaluation, and compliance activities.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and ways to support learning at home.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records for Title I compliance.
- Attend professional development and staff meetings as required.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation required for federal Title I funding.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid NE state teaching certification with appropriate endorsements (e.g., Reading Specialist or Elementary Education)
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in reading/math intervention or Title I programs, preferred
- Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and interventions
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse learners and collaborate with staff and families
