Job Summary:
We are currently looking for a dependable and results-driven B Shift Shipping Supervisor to oversee shipping operations during the evening shift. This leadership role is responsible for managing personnel, coordinating outbound logistics, and ensuring product is shipped accurately and on time. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at problem-solving, and can motivate a diverse team to meet operational goals with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct shift employees in daily shipping activities, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and according to company standards.
- Coordinate the correct and timely loading of outgoing freight based on customer schedules and specifications.
- Manage incoming shipments and maintain organized documentation of nightly receiving.
- Enforce safety standards and encourage a culture of accountability and performance.
- Actively engage team members to promote collaboration, productivity, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges or delays, making real-time decisions to stay on schedule.
- Ensure accurate reporting of shift activities, including labor, production, and compliance paperwork.
- Train team members on standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and job-specific tasks.
- Maintain open lines of communication with management, other shift supervisors, and support departments to align on goals and resource needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant shipping area in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Ensure adequate staffing coverage and communicate scheduling needs in advance.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to develop individual performance and team cohesion.
- Work in an environment with exposure to loud noise, cold temperatures, and wet floors, while standing or walking for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends as business needs may require.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a logistics, distribution, or manufacturing setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage teams effectively, including coaching, scheduling, and resolving conflicts.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of computers and ability to learn internal systems.
- Capable of working under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods, including during equipment inspections and repairs.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Capable of working in elevated areas, including catwalks or ladders, as necessary to maintain equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call availability, depending on production needs.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage a diverse team of maintenance professionals.
- Previous Experience in food processing, cold chain logistics
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping systems, inventory management tools, and regulatory requirements.
