Position Overview

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long‑term care facilities under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. 8‑hour shifts, varied across the United States. Salary: $24.00 – $36.00 per hour. Premium pay: $10/hour for all hours, $1.25/hour weekend shift differential, $1.25/hour evening/night differential (6:00PM – 6:00AM). Travel required within a 75‑mile radius of permanent address.

Minimum of 30 hours per month, including one weekend shift each month.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and apply them to the resident’s clinical setting.
  • Provide full scope of nursing expertise, using age‑and‑population‑specific standards, and support the resident’s physical and psychosocial needs as outlined in the care plan.
  • Perform testing to evaluate resident status and provide required care.
  • Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively in emergent situations.
  • Ensure health, comfort, and safety of residents.
  • Contribute to resident assessment, administer medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Provide technical support to health‑care professionals as needed.
  • Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and diet.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with residents, health‑care providers, and the public.
  • Work effectively with interdisciplinary team members and communicate clearly while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Provide counseling to residents, families, or advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
  • Develop self‑care programs based on resident education principles.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program and hold an active Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state.
  • Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Completed a pre‑licensure nursing program with 400+ hours of clinical experience or equivalent employment experience.
  • For positions requiring IV therapy/management, a Board‑approved AASPN program or an approved IV therapy course (North Dakota) is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required department competencies and certifications.
  • Complete annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training.
Experience Requirements

3 months of LPN experience in long‑term care (6 months preferred).

Scheduling Requirements

Minimum 30 hours per month and one weekend shift each month.
