Air Medical PC-Captain; IFR Roster | North Platte, NE

The Mission

Operate Air Methods aircraft in support of Life Net’s critical care transports under IFR, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and uncompromising safety for patients, clinical teams, and equipment. You’ll plan and launch flights on short notice, adapt to changing conditions, and represent the program through ongoing training, meetings, and community outreach.

• Exercise final authority for aircraft operations, passenger and cargo safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct thorough preflights and postflights, including full walk-arounds and signing the Daily Flight Log to verify airworthiness before every flight.
• Perform detailed flight planning—often with little notice—to exacting standards in diverse weather and terrain.
• Operate safely and legally under IFR, maintaining strict adherence to FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Remain fully familiar with your primary aircraft and the medical systems and interiors of backup aircraft used in the operational area.
• Ensure the medical flight team is briefed, comfortable, and proficient with the aircraft’s medical interior and systems.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and on time; participate in company meetings, training, projects, committees, and community outreach.
• Uphold regular attendance and all Air Methods employment practices and safety policies.

• Total flight time: 2,500+ hours (including at least 2,000 hours in category).
• PIC time (in category): 1,000+ hours.
• Cross-country: 500+ hours (including 50+ hours at night).
• Turbine: 500+ hours.
• Night: 100+ hours.
• Actual instrument (in category): 100+ hours.
• Recency: Flown in category within the last 24 months.
• Certificates: FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with instrument rating for the applicable category/class; an ATP in category satisfies the instrument requirement.
• Ratings: Commercial SEL or fixed-wing MEL, as applicable to assigned aircraft.
• Medical: Current FAA First- or Second-Class medical certificate.
• Education & experience: Associate degree (or equivalent from a two‑year college/technical school) plus 2–5 years of related experience/training; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Operational readiness: Demonstrated ability to conduct precise flight planning with minimal notice and maintain meticulous documentation.
• Program requirements: Flight‑crew members must weigh ≤ 250 lb and be under 70 years old.

• Base salary: $82,900 – $93,251.
• Stipends: $30,000 stipend; $3,000 IFR stipend; experience stipend up to $12,000.
• Sign-on bonus: $15,000.
